FUDR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Placed an unprecedented spotlight on the Upper Delaware “issues”.
  • Educate the public and political leaders on the negative consequences of the DRBC’s commissioned fisheries plan.
  • Congressionally appointed a member of FUDR on SEF committee established by the DRBC.
  • Consistently argued that the current Flexible Flow Management Program would negatively impact the trout fishery.
  • Identified and reported erroneous flow and temperature violations under the interim flow plan.
  • Consistently argued that flow and temperature targets will not work. This is now agreed by everyone.
  • Develop a comprehensive stream restoration project.
  • Partnered with the Town of Hancock, Army Corp. of Engineers and the Delaware County Dept. Public Works spearheading stream restoration project.
  • The first conservation group to vigorously oppose the NYRI power line project.
  • Continue to meet with state and local officials as an advocate for the fishery.
  • Gained alliance with Trout Unlimited and Flood Groups in our argument to gain proper flows during critical summer months.
  • Establish a legal team of experts to advise FUDR in our goals to protect the Upper Delaware watershed.
  • Sponsor of the annual “One Bug” event that raises money and matched dollar for dollar last year by National Fish & Wildlife Foundation.
  • Working with Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission on gaining an adequate release schedule for the Upper Delaware River and its branches.
