Career Days

The crew gets the opportunity to learn about local conservation careers and talk to the individuals who work in these positions.

Previous Organizations Include:

Career Development

Each year the crew members attend various workshops that focus on improving their interview skills and creating a detailed resume. They worked with career development professionals, who helped them refine their resume and build their interview skill with mock interviews. 

The crew creates a career plan to help the members achieve their goals for the future. They also created a portfolio that could be shared with potential employers. These portfolios can be customized to show off the individual’s personality, they can include resume, hobbies, certifications, pictures of them doing field work, and more. The crew also had various DEIJ training and discussions. 


In The Field Training

The season includes many opportunities for various training throughout the season. 


Trainings:

  • Rivers App 

  • Large Woody Debris Survey

  • Macroinvertebrate ID and Protocol 

  • Snorkeling Surveys

  • Electroshocking

  • Temperature Logging

  • Data Collection



Certifications

UDRCC members earned several certifications throughout their season. They earn their CPR/First Aid Certification. The crew also earned their NAACC Certification. NAACC stands for North Atlantic Connectivity Collaborative, which focuses on collecting data for road-stream crossings. These crossings include bridges and culverts, and assessing these help improve fish passage.
