Captain Pete Grimbilas
Pete is proprietor of a metal fabricating firm located in Wayne, NJ. He is a member of the American Welding Society (AWS), the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC).
“Captain Pete” possesses a one hundred ton U.S. Coast Guard Master’s License since 1986 and specialized in off-shore canyon trips plus in-shore fishing excursions. He is a Member of the Greater Point Pleasant Charter Boat Association and has participated as Tournament Director for GPPCBA. From tournament proceeds, over a half million dollars has been donated to the New Jersey Artificial Reef Program.
Pete has traveled extensively throughout North, South and Central America pursuing his obsession and passion for both fresh and saltwater fly fishing.
Pete is past president of the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance and Chairman/Co-Founder of Reef Rescue. He is a member of the National Association of Charterboat Operators (NACO), a life member of Trout Unlimited, Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA), Manasquan River Marlin and Tuna Club, NJ State Federation of Sportsman’s Clubs, Atlantic Salmon Federation, and Indian Springs Fly Fishing Club. In his spare time he volunteers at the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife’s bear tagging program.
Pete received the ‘Sportsman of the Year’ award from the Manasquan River Marlin and Tuna Club in 2009 and 2011. He was awarded “Sportsman of the Year by Jersey Coast Anglers Association in 2016 plus has several first place awards in saltwater and freshwater fishing tournament competitions.
Pete has a wide variety of interests including fly fishing in fresh and saltwater, fly tying, Bluewater fishing, traveling internationally to remote fishing destinations, small game and bird hunting, plus gun and bow hunting for deer.
Pete attended the New York School of Visual Arts and has a BA in advertising.
